To safeguard yourself we recommend -

1. Physically looking at & driving the vehicle to make sure that the vehicle exists. Also by test driving the car yourself you will know if this is the right car for you.

2. Talk to the owner or dealer to get a feel that this vehicle is genuine buy, by doing this you will have a better understanding how the car has been treated.

3. Check log books & service/repair receipts for vehicle history. If there is no evidence of any service & repair records or the owner is vague about this information, this would ring alarm bells for me & would turn me off buying this vehicle.

4. Make sure the person selling the car is the owner of the car. Quite often the people who are running a scam will tell you that they are selling the car for a relative or a friend. The person selling the car needs to show you proof that they have permission to sell the car
